You're paying for photos, not our time.

We go by your time. We don't believe a good session should end just because a timer goes off. For standard portrait sessions, you pay for the finished photographs, not a fixed number of minutes.

Real-world limits still apply: daylight, weather, little ones' and animals' energy, venue access and keeping everyone safe. We'll agree on the plan before your session so the scope is clear. Weddings, events, rented venues and commercial work always have a contracted coverage time.

How a session works

How it works

It's pretty straightforward.

  1. 01

    Tell us your idea

Choose a package or send me your idea. You don't need to know every detail yet.

  2. 02

    We'll figure out the details.

We'll help you pick a time and place that flatter you, including weather backup.

  3. 03

    Relax & shoot

Prompts, not poses. Breaks when you need them. No countdown.

  4. 04

    You get your gallery.

A private online gallery of finished, edited photographs.

Meet the founders

Who are we?

We're Sam and Breanna, the couple behind Southstill. Our lives are a little bit of everything. We love the idea of a quiet homestead, a house full of kids and animals, and having the freedom to build a life that feels like our own. We both grew up in the South, surrounded by the kind of places where you can spend an entire afternoon outside without running out of things to do. It's a big part of who we are, and a big part of why we love calling South Georgia and North Florida home. And we'd love for you to get to know us a little better.

Not sure where to start?

Four quick choices and we'll sketch your session: the feel, a suggested package with honest pricing, travel, and one prep tip. Takes about 30 seconds. Or skip it and just ask us directly.

Where we work

Rooted in South Georgia & North Florida.

  • and nearby

Sessions within our core area don't carry a travel fee. Farther than that, we'll quote travel up front so there are no surprises.

Somewhere else? Ask. Other locations are quoted by travel distance, and you'll see the travel cost before you book anything.

Good questions

Things people ask first.

What if I feel awkward in front of a camera?

Almost everyone does for the first few minutes. You won't be left to figure out what to do with your hands. You'll get simple prompts, things to do rather than poses to hold, and time to settle in. Nobody's rushing you toward a finish line.

How much time do we get?

For standard portrait sessions there's no stopwatch. We work until we've made your chosen number of strong, finished photos, within sensible limits like daylight, weather, location access, and how much energy little ones and animals have. Real-world limits still apply: daylight, weather, little ones' and animals' energy, venue access and keeping everyone safe. We'll agree on the plan before your session so the scope is clear. Weddings, events, rented venues and commercial work always have a contracted coverage time.

My pet won't sit still. Is that okay?

Completely. Good dogs don't need to sit. Movement, play and personality often make the best frames. We'll work at their pace, with treats, breaks and a familiar person nearby.

Can I bring my horse?

Yes, please. Horse portraits usually work best at your barn or farm, with an experienced handler. We'll plan around footing, heat, flies and feeding times, and safety always comes before the shot.

What happens if the weather changes?

South Georgia and North Florida weather has opinions. If rain, storms or dangerous heat make a session unsafe or unflattering, we'll reschedule together. Overcast skies, though, can be beautiful for portraits.

When will I get my photos?

We'll confirm your gallery delivery date with you before you book.

Who owns the photos? Can I print them?

Portrait packages include a personal-use print release, so you can print, frame and share your photos with family and friends. The photographer keeps the copyright, which is standard. Business and advertising use is licensed separately and included in business quotes.

Do you photograph weddings?

Yes. Weddings, engagements and events are custom quoted with a contracted coverage window, clear deliverables and travel up front. The no-stopwatch approach is for portrait sessions. Events always have agreed hours.
